Sorelle Gets Her Brows Groomed

Sorelle had been saving her brows and needed to get them in shape. She was referred to me to get them done. I am ALWAYS team choose the best brows for your face, which was what she also wanted.

Good thing about getting the brows well groomed is that you don't have to always fill, highlight or define because you always wake up like that......flawless!

 Please ladies don't trade your beautiful brows for nothing.

Chioma's Beautiful Reflections......Before Meets After

Two weeks ago, Chioma called me asking for a makeover to attend her colleague's wedding.....one would have thought it was her wedding with the booking in advance....lol.

In her words, Omata I must not hear that you are busy, don't try me o.....chai! she's such a bully. So for fear of Chioma, I was ready and waiting for her lordship.

I asked her how she wanted to look, she said, "i really don't know, but i don't want false lashes, just do the magic....make me beautiful.

A few weeks ago, I received my NAKED2 eyeshadow palette; I am so excited to share my review with you.  It's always been my wish to have this palette, but I kept telling myself that my eye-shadow collection was much already and I didn't need to add another one. Typically, I like to mix up brands and try new products but I still felt the product was overhyped. Each time I see a makeup job done using any NAKED eyeshadow palette or I read reviews by makeup artists or on their Urban Decay (UD) website ....the urge to buy it revisits me....finally I gave in....deep sigh....o well ! life of a makeup artist!

Urban Decay has a collection of eyeshadow palette called NAKED....there's NAKED Basics, 1, 2 &3. After much research and reviews, I decided to buy the NAKED 2 palette. 

So I just started my 'NAKED' journey with NAKED2....whoop whoop!.....(did that come out right.....hmmm.....but you understand right....that's the koks!).

Design/Package:

It has a long, slim metal case that has a snap and shut way of opening and closing just like a Mathset (remember Academy or Oxford Mathset those days....choi old age approaching faster that the wind...anyways, that's it), diffference being NAKED2 palette has compartments, is more feminine and fanciful.

Pigmentation and Texture:

NAKED2 is very high quality, extremely pigmented and creamy in texture. With the glittery shades there could be lots of fall out as you apply to the eyes and this could make application difficult. My way around avoiding fall out is to dab the eye-shadow brush at the back of my palm to wade off excesses. With this palette I get everything from matte to glitter or shimmer.

Long Lasting

NAKED2 can stick to your eyes for centuries...lol...You can wear this all day and not need to reapply. It's one eyeshadow that puts up with you all day without smearing.

Colour
It has a great range of 12 pale, light, dark and shimmery intense amazing shades.  The colours are great for different looks, whether day or night.

Price:
It is expensive, Naked 2 palette cost $54 (with the present dollar to naira rate....it's say N11000 to N12000). 

Compensation:

The palette comes with a sample card Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potions in Original, Sin, Eden and  Anti-Aging.....this seems like the compensation for the price.....hmmm marketing strategy.

Do I Recommend: 
YES!  Palette is amazing, color payoff is awesome, amazing buy for money. You really can’t go wrong with Urban Decay....just try it.

If you are comtemplating buying it, that's normal, I once felt that way; truth be told, it is not exactly cheap, but is it worth every cent?......ABSOLUTELY YES!

Ada in Metallic Shimmery Eyes and Dark Side Amplified Lips

Ada stopped by to get her brows done and to get a makeover as well. In Ada's words, Omata you know I am not a makeup person, I want something wow! 

Ada wasn't kidding o, she came with her own MAC Dark Side Amplified lipstick......in my mind, i'm like this is serious! I must wow her today...lol.

Such a sweet child, she brought me some apples too....awww....not bribe ooo...lool

So, even though it was her first time fixing individual false lashes, she was very open to it, remained calm and very expectant...for a first timer i was very surprised #brave child.... although she blinked like 100 times per second......lol....but she was ditamynnned! 

For the makeover I decided to give her metallic shimmery eyes and complement it with MAC dark side amplified lipstick for the lips.

Get All the Attention - Black Smokey Eyes

Every Woman Needs MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick

MAC's Ruby Woo is the most famous red lipstick of the MAC lipstick collection. The lipstick is a best seller. This is hands down my favourite red lipstick for now.  It's so good that Rihanna couldn't get enough of it, so MAC created one for her called Riri Woo.

I am sure majority of you reading this will have heard about it or even have it...it's a girls' best friend. If you have it, let me know what you think but if you don't have it, then read along.

Colour

Ruby Woo is the  perfect sexy red. It's a not too warm, not too cool-toned  classic red color. The high impact color pays off. It's a red that craves and seeks attention. The red colour makes the teeth look whiter.

Pigment

Ruby woo is a highly pigmented red, one swipe across the lips is enough. There are lots of red lipsticks but this one owns the formula that lights up ones face in an instant....it's like magic. 

Long Lasting

Ruby Woo is a matte lipstick which means it stays longer on the lips that creamy products. I can wear this all day even if I eat/drink and would not need to re-apply. 

Texture

The formula is retro matte, making it dry and without shine or gloss. This means that it  can hang in there for hours. Because it's dry, you need to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying. Then a bit of pressure will do while while applying to the lips, that way it sits in properly and comes out nicely. 

You don't want to wear this lipstick on chapped or peeling lips....that would be a disaster.

Fragrance

It has a vanilla appealing fragrance. 

Makes one get tempted to lick.

Carriage/Size

The size of Ruby woo makes it makeup purse friendly, denim pocket friendly; it's just very handy. 

Price

It cost about  N4500 to N5000 in beauty stores  in Nigeria. Quite expensive right?.....i know but true value for money.

If you want a lipstick that draws attention to you, the statement lipstick that does a lot of talking without you talking, then we are talking red lipstick and no other than Ruby Woo. I think it looks good on everyone and literally brightens up your day as soon as you apply. 

Ruby woo is truly iconic!

YES! A trial and you will not regret it.

Oluchi's Groomed Brows

Oluchi started her full brows for new year challenge since she couldn't do the full eyebrows for chistmas challenge I did last year;  remember, see Here.

She got her brows waxed abroad and she wasn't impressed. She spoke to me and I encouraged her to let them grow without touching for at least 4 weeks.

In her words, ''beauty is pain, if I have to carry scruffy ungroomed brows  before I look good I will wait''.  

She saved her brows for 5 weeks and 5 days.
 

According to her, on the 5th week and 4th day, while she was at the salon making her hair, the stylist begged to groom her brows but she vehemently said no; she wanted no other person but me to groom them.

She was particularly concerned about her left brows which was quite scanty compared to the right. Now the pressure was on me to deliver fantastic brows. Thankfully I did and she loved it.

With no iota of makeup on, here's her natural brows before and after I groomed them.

This is the true fulfilment I get.....when my client smiles...nothing beats that.

Highlight of the brow grooming...she couldn't stop gushing in amazement....''I don't have to use an eyebrow pencil if I don't want to, Oh! I must swim this weekend, even in the pool my brows will still be perfect'', she said. and this was followed by lots of selfies too.

Chiamaka's Makeover

Chiamaka a.k.a Chamzy, as I would always call her is such a warm playful person, my friend and one of my blog readers. She decided to start her personal full eyebrows challenge with the intention of having me tweeze them into shape after 4 weeks.

 

Her brows were so full I was looking forward to having a grooming date with them, then I saw her and my heart was literarily broken…..she had chopped them off by herself.

 

So we decided to do a makeover to show her how to fill her brows and equally make her look beautiful. The idea was naija bridal look. It was such a fun makeover, after which Chamzy literarily took over hundred pictures and lots of selfies. She kept gushing, giggling in excitement....''Aww I will be a beautiful bride someday'', she said.

 

Chamzy has beautiful long lashes and a cheek-bone every makeup artist craves when it comes to making contouring perfect.

Mariam's Nikah Makeover

The groom, Akeem, who happens to be like an 'elder brother' to me and a colleague called me up to do his wife's makeover. Countdown to the wedding was not a small thing especially on the office group chat on whatsapp, I really looked forward to their big day.

This is one bride that doesn't joke with her eyebrows....she’s had them  full for  long and wasn't willing to trade them for fear of getting it messed up. she came in saying "Please I don’t want you to touch my brows o, I am very scared, I like them the way they are".

So I had to reassure her that they will still come out full, but  well groomed and that is what i delivered!

Mariam has got such amazing features,  full eyebrows, long eyelashes, nice cheek bone and lovely eyes to go! She was a calm and patient bride plus she took very good care of me as well.
